Good Nutrition is Key

Some organic vegetables from our garden and the farmer's market

Every month, a nutritionalist comes in to guide and educate residents in what healthy eating and food combinations work best for recovery. Some diets can eliminate cravings and some vitamins and minerals found in certain foods can help our bodies heal from the devastating effects of our disease.

When meals are planned by our residents they consider what they have learned and what they may already know about nutrition and consider the needs of the other residemts. It is an opportunity to learn how to care for one's self as well as consider others. Residents take turns working in teams, so they get to know each other and they get to the chance to build their self-esteem.
